Leandro Luzone meets with ALERJ parliamentarians to discuss the project that changes the Repetro

Luzone Advogados, represented by Dr. Leandro Luzone, joined the Campos Basin delegation, which met with members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (ALERJ), to prevent the progress of the Draft Law amending the Repetro in State.

Repetro has existed since 1999, and last year it was extended by the Federal Government until 2040, leaving the states to decide whether or not to join the agreement. Just as São Paulo adhered and the Espirito Santo walks to do. However, the authors of Bill No. 3.660 / 17 intend to raise ICMS taxation at the production stage from 3% to 20%.

According to Leandro Luzone, secretary of the IADC - Brazil Chapter, "Rio de Janeiro will no longer be competitive in relation to other states and may lose a lot. Production in the state is in decline and will not be attractive to companies to invest here. In the short term, the government will raise more. However, there will be an even more serious tax problem because business will migrate to the centers that maintain the Repetro."
