A Petrobras encerrou sua campanha de perfuração na Bacia Potiguar e, com isso, não tem mais licenças de perfuração em nenhuma das cinco bacias da Margem Equatorial, que é considerada a principal fronteira exploratória do país.
A estatal anunciou na terça-feira (9/4) ter encontrado uma acumulação de petróleo no poço poço Anhangá, na concessão POT-M-762_R15. Fica a 24km de Pitu Oeste, primeiro poço perfurado na Bacia Potiguar, onde também confirmou a presença de hidrocarbonetos.
Salvo na Bacia Potiguar, um projeto antigo e com características próprias, há mais de dez anos não são perfurados poços nas cinco bacias sedimentares da Margem Equatorial: Foz do Amazonas, Pará-Maranhão, Barreirinhas, Ceará e Potiguar.
Tanto Petrobras quanto governos estaduais, no entanto, estão otimistas que a exploração de petróleo e gas na região será liberada este ano pelo Ibama. Começando com a Foz do Amazonas, a mais polêmica, seguida pelas adjacentes.

Petrobras has ended its drilling campaign in the Potiguar Basin and, as a result, no longer has drilling licenses in any of the five basins on the Equatorial Margin, which is considered the main exploratory frontier of the country.
The state-owned company announced on Tuesday (9/4) that it had found an accumulation of oil in the Anhangá well, in the POT-M-762_R15 concession. It is 24km from Pitu Oeste, the first well drilled in the Potiguar Basin, where the presence of hydrocarbons was also confirmed.
Except for the Potiguar Basin, an old project with its own characteristics, no wells have been drilled in the five sedimentary basins of the Equatorial Margin for more than ten years: Foz do Amazonas, Pará-Maranhão, Barreirinhas, Ceará and Potiguar.
Both Petrobras and state governments, however, are optimistic that oil and gas exploration in the region will be released this year by Ibama. Starting with Foz do Amazonas, the most controversial, followed by the adjacent ones.
